Football Club Torpedo Vladimir

 

Football Club Torpedo Vladimir was founded in 1959.
The former club names are Trud (1959), Traktor (1960–1968), Motor (1969–1972).
The first official game in the Soviet championships: Metallurg Dnepropetrovsk - Trud Vladimir - 1:1 (April 18, 1959).
The first official goal in the Soviet championships: Konstantin Gruzdev  in the game  Metallurg (Dnepropetrovsk) - Trud (Vladimir) - 1:1 (April 18, 1959).


The best results in the Soviet championships (1959 - 1991):
First place in the group tournaments of class «B» (1966, 1970) and in the group tournament of the second division (1974).
Second place in the group tournament of class «B» (1969) and in the group tournament of the second division (1975 г.).
Third place in the group tournament of the second division (1973, 1991).

The best results in the Russian championships (from 1992):
First place in the group «West» of the second division (2004, 2010).
First place in the «Golden Ring» tournament (2000).
Second place in the group «West» of the second division (2008, 2009).
Third place in the group «West» of the second division (2005).
Sixth place in the first division (1993).

The best results in the national Cup tournaments:
USSR: last 32 round (1/16 – 1959-1960).
Russia: last 16 round (1/8 - 2011/2012). 
PFL Cup: second place (2004).
Nayil Safaev played the most number of matches for Torpedo Vladimir in the Soviet and Russian championships (511). 
Dmitry Vyazmikin scored the most number of goals for Torpedo Vladimir in the Soviet and Russian championships (150).
Dmitry Vyazmikin scored the most number of goals for Torpedo Vladimir in one season (27 goals in 2004)
Dmitry Vyazmikin scored the most number of goals for Torpedo Vladimir in one match (six goals in the match between Torpedo Vladimir - Tekhinvest-M Moscow Region - 6:1 on the 26-th of October 1994).

The most notable FC Torpedo Vladimir players in the past:
Valentin Afonin - Soviet Top League winner 1970, Soviet Top League runner-up 1966, Top 33 players’ year-end list 1968, 1969, 1970. He played for Soviet Union national team (42 matches), and was a participant at the 1966 FIFA World Cup, 1970 FIFA World Cup and at the 1968 UEFA European Football Championship.

Viktor Losev - Olympic Champion 1988 (team captain), Soviet Top League runner-up 1986, Soviet Top League bronze 1990, Russian Premier League bronze 1992.

Vladimir Suchilin - Soviet Top League winner 1976 (autumn). He played his only game for USSR on the 28-th of November, 1976, in a friendly against Argentina.

Vladimir Pronin, Igor Grishin, Rushan Khasanov, Viktor Vladyuschenkov played in the Soviet Top League.

Maksim Putilin, Dmitry Vyazmikin, Evgeny Durnev, Oleg Maslennikov, Igor Aslanyan, Oleg Stogov, Denis Evsikov, Valery Smolkov, Sergey Ilyin, Vladislav Khakhalev, Igor Varlamov played in the Russian Top League.
